This "Record" series uses real photographs.
The reason why it is a real photograph is because, unlike modern digital, it is a relic from an era when photographs developed on photographic paper were the main storage medium for memory.
The surface and edges of the photo are tattered by the letters, which represents the deterioration of the memory and how it is decaying and crumbling.Also, the letters themselves are strings of characters that are meaningless at first glance. Over time, physical memories become corrupted and become garbled, making it difficult to visually recognize them.
In addition, the reason why the faces of people in photographs are erased with text is due to the aforementioned ``deterioration of memory'' and ``corruption of visual information'', which causes us to lose the memory of the ``individual'' that existed in the photograph. What remains after that is a "trace of memory."
Laser engraving and cutting are used to express the decay of this character. We believe that actually burning out or engraving the surface with a laser is an appropriate technique to express the decay of memory.

その写真の表面、縁が文字によってボロボロになっているのは、その記憶の劣化により朽ちて、崩れていっている姿を表現し、そして、文字自体も、一見意味不明な文字列ですが、文章的記憶も、時間がたつことにより腐敗文字化け)し、視覚的に認識が難しくなっていきます。
