The material used is a reduced version of the Asahi Shimbun dated April 7, 1945, when the battleship Yamato of the former Japanese Navy sank off the coast of Cape Bomisaki in Kagoshima Prefecture, as well as before and after.
The motif is based on the anime space battleship that departed from the same location 254 years later.
The anime motif itself is important in Japanese cultural history, and at the same time, the meaning and thoughts of this motif were created during the era in which the work was created, with the post-war era still remaining.
And the motif is the deified weapon called the battleship Yamato.
This is a fact that cannot be discussed in isolation to talk about a single era, and this work is the embodiment of this fact.
