Material:Magazine (LIFE), paper
Year : 2010
The Citroën 2CV became the national car of France after World War II, and spread throughout Europe and the world.
Its humorous design made it popular.
However, during World War II, France was occupied by Nazi Germany, and Citroën was placed under control.
Many of the 2CVs that were under development at the time were dissatisfied with their use by the Nazis, so Citroën destroyed them or buried them in factory walls or in the ground to prevent them from being used by the Nazis.
After the war, some 2C Vs buried at that time were discovered.
By the way, 2CV means 2 horsepower and is derived from 2CV, which is the taxable output category under the French automobile taxation standards, but it does not mean that the engine output was actually 2 horsepower, and is also a nickname.
