素材は昭和15年〜20年(1940〜45年)発行の朝日新聞の実物を使用、表面の文字(記事)も当時の情勢や状況が分かる内容を選んで使用した。
機体は大戦の初期から最期まで飛び続け、世界で最も有名な日本の大戦機である零戦の1943年ごろの零式艦上戦闘機52型をモチーフに制作。
(心臓であるエンジンを強調するためカウリングは外した。)
